I Write Slanted

Day nine poem

I saw this quote from EB White about writers writing slanted (or something like that), and while I suspect White was after the metaphor of politics, I was stuck with the imagery of the writer, leaning over.

“I have yet to see a piece of writing, political or non-political, that does not have a slant. All writing slants the way a writer leans, and no man is born perpendicular.”

― E.B. White

Peace (off-kilter but still stable),
Kevin

  1. I intend
to lean into the day’s work
    even though I’d much rather
be home on the couch, relaxed
with a good book, mug of tea nearby.

  2. I love the EB White quote. I want to share it with our middle school readers and writers. I need to lean into a whole bunch of work today- bills, school work, taxes, poetry writing! Grateful for all of you!
