I’m not ready to write much about this quite yet but yesterday was my last day in my classroom, and today, I am a retired teacher.
Peace (in the next chapter),

I retired two years ago. I still remember returning to my classroom after waving to the students leaving on the buses. Im not sure how a guy can feel so empty and full at the same time. It takes a while to find the next words in that chapter. Be patient and keep your heart open (something I imagine you have much experience doing anyway!)

Thanks for stopping by and yes, it is true, all that you wrote here. Still, it’s good to hear it.

Hi Kevin,
I went a year ago, not sure it has sunk in yet. Whatever happens will be a surprise. You have certainly enough creative outlets to fill many retirements. I do not know how things are organised in the US but I’ve enjoyed doing occasional days ‘supply’ in my old school.
Congratulations!
Thanks for the thoughts, and I suppose it will take time to sink in. Time to write a poem …
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Congratulations on your retirement!
I’ve been out of the classroom for three years now, but I still like to drop by and read your writing.
Aw, thank you, my friend. I appreciate that you took the time to read and to comment.
