This poem is from a prompt over at Open Write.
Peace (in the nook),
Kevin
If you don’t live it, it won’t come out of your horn. ~ Charlie Parker
This poem is from a prompt at Open Write/ Verse Love. My dad is a drummer, and I was never coordinated enough to play the drums. I chose the sax instead.
Peace (and sound),
Kevin
This poem comes from a I Am From prompt via Open Write. I’ve done these many times, and still enjoy finding new angles to come at the idea. Here, I used music notes as metaphor.
Peace (in the beat),
Kevin
PS — just for fun, I took it into Typatone and had it generate different soundtracks to the words of the poem and then mixed them together into a single track.
This morning’s prompt at Open Write is all about scars, and the prompt by Bryan brought back a memory of childhood, when we were building a tree fort, and a hammer fell and hit me right on the head. Ouch.
Peace (and memory),
Kevin
