The prompt for the Daily Create was to use the Wolfram Tones music site. I took my music file and got animated with it.

I wrote this song – Another AI Surprise — the other day and decided I would just hit the “record” button and get it down and out.
Another AI Surprise
Met a ‘bot on the flat screen – well, it wrote real nice
Told me how I was oh so smart – then it offered me advice
But every bit of its answer – not a word rang true
I don’t know where it stole the words, but it sure sounded like you
Every bit of the Internet, even what you wrote
Every picture you ever took, every musical note
It’s gobbled it all up and spun it upside down
Spit it right back out at you like an agent on the ground
Open Ai, Grok, Anthropopic, Google and all the rest
They opened up Pandora’s Box and now it’s an utter mess
You can’t trust what you’re reading – can’t trust your own eyes
Every question or query brings another AI surprise
You can use it as a soundboard and it’ll write all night
You can have it make some crazy art that it stole from someone’s site
You can have it make music, make movies and recipes
Then you have to ask yourself, is this gonna replace me?
Now where this is going, we can’t hardly tell
Getting pitched, it’s a path to profit but it might be a road to hell
Gotta find some guard rails – keep the system in line
When the men in the room share their P-Doom – it’s a world on fire
Chorus

A few weeks back, a group of friends and I invited friends and family to my living room for a concert of mostly original songs. I took some of the audio tracks and put them into an EP on Bandcamp.
Take a listen to the Sunday Morning Stompers (our name, for now anyway).

This music track is the latest in a series of singles I am slowly releasing as I record and produce them at my home. This song — Something About This House — started with a lovely visit from a person who grew up in the house where we now live. We’ve become friendly with her, and as she shares stories of the house, it often feels like the ghosts of past people are listening in.
I am not completely satisfied with the vocals on this one but I got frustrated and stopped trying to redo them. It’s an odd key for me, and quirky chordal endings at times.
Peace (maybe you’re a ghost),
Kevin
I’ve been slowly recording some new songs and putting them out as singles via Bandcamp as opposed to gathering them together into an album. I might still do that – put the new songs under one roof. But for now, it’s a trickle of music. The latest is this one – Wander With Grace.
Peace (and melody),

I finally finished recording a song I wrote about a trip my wife and I took to Nova Scotia last summer. I wrote Baby, Hold On To Me after she gifted me a photo book from our trip.

This is a collage of myself with three of my friends, on a regular Sunday morning jam session (we are doing mostly my original songs).

I was busy this past year, writing and recording original music. I put out three album collections (one, traditional, with my original songs; and two others that were mostly electronic in nature) and a smattering of individual songs. That came to 50 total new published music tracks in 2025!
As the year winds down, I figure I would share the music here, as a sort of curation effort for myself.
The first collection came out of something a friend of mine asked for, for a project of his. He never used the track I created out of loops of a single instrument, but I was taken by the concept of making songs out of loops of one instrument. So I just kept on going with it, and the result was the Nothing But This album. I found the limits of a single instrument quite interesting to play around with.
Then I finished work on the album of original songs that I had been working on. My aim was to get it out the door by my birthday, a sort of tradition of mine now, and In The Slowdown was released before my deadline. I am proud of many of these songs, and a few I am playing now with a small band I formed with some friends this year (we don’t have a name yet).
My wife and I took a long vacation to the east side of Nova Scotia, and every day, I tried to compose music to capture our visit. The Patterns And Evocations gathered those tracks together, as a sort of memory quilt of music. These tracks were all made on my iPad, via Garageband.
In the past few months, I have been releasing single tracks as I finish writing and recording them. I am not sure what my plan is for them, and I have a few other songs I am working on. One of the singles was a song I wrote for my childhood friend, Murph, who passed away this year. I called it A Friend To Navigate The Stars.
One late 2025 song that I really enjoy playing and enjoyed recording is Mind The Quiet, which was sparked by something my father said to me. The song just emerged quickly, and it has interesting lyrics and an open sound quality to it that I like.
You can see and listen to all my music (the good and the not-so-good) at my Bandcamp site.

More than seven years ago, my friend and I wrote and recorded a holiday song and then had my son make a video, and some years, as a gift to my co-songwriting friend, I try to do some sort of remix. Here they all are in chronological order:
Peace (to you),
Kevin
PS — my friend also did his own remix a few years back
This morning’s prompt at DS106 Daily Create was to invent a Prog Rock band and come up with a song it might be recording in the “studio” of the image. I came up with The Time Signature Symphony, performing Kevin’s Off-Kilter Again. Then, I made a teaser demo of the song.
