Kind of on a whim of “let’s try something new” this weekend, my wife and I took part in an Eggshell Mosaic class and we each did a small project used crushed, painted eggshells. Just before the session, I had heard an interview on NPR with James Blake, whose comment about “songs are painted music” lodged in my head, and became the basis for my project.

Six years ago — on a Friday, March 13th — I was standing with my sixth graders at the end of the school day and one of my students asked me about this virus that was on the news. I knew only a little. We left school and didn’t return for the rest of the school year. It’s important to remember. I wrote this song for my school community in the days that followed.

Add your Indie website to a future, second edition of the Internet Phone book.
I’ve been exploring the first edition and it has been so much fun.

The Daily Create asked us to create a food face. Luckily, I had the clementine eyes, banana mouth and shallot nose handy.
