Poetry: Two For One

Outside, a man on the one-wheel gyro
plays his guitar, the amplifier on his back
cranked up to something close to heaven
as he cruises city streets

Inside, a man hunches over the Grand,
communing quietly with chords, his fingers
gracing the keys, as the bass and drums
follow his musical lead

This poem is sort of for Open Write, but I did not follow the directions.

Peace (and sound),
Kevin

Poetry: Peru (MA)

Peru, MA

The prompt for the first of the weekend’s Open Write was to consider a place and its name as inspiration for a poem. I mulled over the town of Peru, west of me, which is just this little tiny place of forests. I don’t know how it got its name.

Peace (in Peru),
Kevin

Daily Create: Lost Sock

Lost Sock

The prompt for the Daily Create this morning was to write a story or poem about a lost sock. We’ve all been there – looking for the sock gone missing. I had fun writing this one, but I also remembered that a photo from my classroom on Flickr of Crazy Sock Day has the most views of all of my photos (about 18,500 views) and I never could figure out why.

Crazy Socks

Oh well. Socks. You kinda need them but then they take on a life of their own.

Peace (on the feet),
Kevin

Music: Wander (the album)

Wander: Album Art 2026

For the third year in a row, in May, I am publishing an album of original songs. All but one were written in the last eight months or so, and some were previously published as singles on Bandcamp. But I have gathered those and the others now under one roof, entitled Wander.

Peace (and sound),
