I was at a neighborhood holiday party when news of Doug Jones’ win came in. The mood of the party shifted dramatically. People’s faces brightened. I know I felt some invisible weight, of which I was totally unaware, lift. My question, going forward, is how to create a space for hope each day. A space to look for and see a spark. Ha– now there’s a Twitter hashtag #2018hope ? Or something….
